But hey, I'm a sucker for the series so I'll take anything. I thought that it was adorable how cute they were throughout the book, but I also realize that it was massively rushed.

I thought Jude would have a big reveal at the end before she does the thing that everyone expects her to do. Jude barely fought anyone in this book, and I realize she is Queen and everything, but still. The book was a lovely ending, but like y'all, I expected a lot more badassery and scheming. DOES THAT MEAN JUDE IS ESSENTIALLY IMMORTAL? Also, I read in the Wicked King something Val Moren said about a mortal living forever as long as they stay in Elfhame.

It was entertaining and I enjoyed it but there are certain things that were pretty big in TWK that did not carry over into the final book, it was like it was glossed over/forgotten about. Locke to actually be alive (I'm so annoyed that he died and we never really experienced it! & I genuinely felt like Taryn completely changed in a matter of chapters, like she just randomly had enough of Locke's shit and decides to kill him? I get that perhaps becoming maternal was the reason why she did this but it still was rushed - it felt like there needed to be more of an explanation as to why/how this happened.

I also hoped for this book to have more twist and turns, like you guys have said, I was expecting something awful to happen i.e. I guess my only dislike is that there was a lack of Jude X Cardan 'build up/tension' - I felt like as a 'couple' we're reading about they didn't interact an awful lot during this book and I personally wanted to see more of that. My initial feeling towards the book is pretty neutral - I liked reading the book & thought the ending was alright.
